Ukrnafta digitalises geological and production work flows to process bid data faster, improve the quality of its analysis, and make more accurate engineering decisions.
In the first half of 2026, the team of the Research and Design Institute two new projects using artificial neural networks.
The first aimed to improve the quality of seismic data. Neural networks help boost data resolution and reduce noise, allowing geologists access to better drilling-planning data.
The second aimed at automation of structural maps' digitisation. Due to the use of artificial intelligence, the speed of their processing increased approximately five-fold.

Therewith, the specialists improve historic digital solutions: automatic logging interpretation, systems for accelerated digitisation of logging data, and recommendation models to select candidate wells for stimulation.
Another important result is the automation of the geological and geophysical data preparation for digital reservoir models. Earlier, this process took two to six weeks. To date, it takes one day.
An individual direction is archives' digitalisation. Over 600 thousand geological and production documents have already been digitised and translated into Ukrainian. At the same time, we further develop the KSPD-Navigation service, which to a large extent simplifies the search and analysis of technical information.
The new projects are ahead. In particular, work is in progress on a system for automatic fault identification based on 3D seismic data, and a smart assistant to work with geological and production data.
