The Oilfield Services of PJSC Ukrnafta (hereinafter – the OFS) incorporates all the Company’s oil servicing units.  

The OFS is one of the largest Ukrainian companies providing a full range of services for the oil and gas industry:

  • cementing
  • hydraulic fracturing
  • coiled tubing operations
  • operations support services
  • tubing production and repair
  • test and repair of electric submersible pumps
  • engineering and well testing
  • blowout response service

The OFS provides services not only to Ukrnafta but also has more than 60 external customers. We provide services and technological solutions for the duration of field development: ranging from drilling, reservoir assessment to well development and production enhancement.

Our network covers more than 30 facilities located in close proximity to Ukraine's largest oil and gas fields to provide efficient and timely provision of customer services.

The OFS’ driving force is a well-trained and highly experienced personnel and a strong logistical base. 

Pressure pumping сementing and acidizing services

The OFS offers the following pressure pumping, cementing and acidizing services:

  • casing cementing
  • setting of cement plugs
  • pressure testing of casing, drilling tools, manifolds, tubing, BOP equipment
  • borehole cleanout
  • acid stimulation operations
  • bottom hole zones treatment
  • special treatment with salt inhibitors, corrosion, bactericides, special paraffin solvents, etc.
  • wax prevention and removal
  • cleanout of sand plugs
  • isolation of formation water inflows
  • well killing procedures
  • transportation of cement
  • coiled tubing operations
  • well stimulation with compressor units, cryogenic nitrogen unit, liquid nitrogen

Today, the OFS cementing facilities include 107 cementing pumping units, 2 coiled tubing units, pumping fleet, 4 nitrogen and air compressors, 3 air compression units and 3 nitrogen units.

Since 2017, the OFS has performed 101 operations on casing cementing, set 290 cementing plugs, carried out 191 coiled tubing operations and 37 hydraulic fracturing operations.

Hydraulic Fracturing

The OFS performs hydraulic fracturing (fracking) turnkey, namely:

  • selection of objects for fracking
  • optimal design of hydraulic fracturing using the latest specialized MFrac Suite 12 software by Baker Hughes a GE Company
  • engineering and scientific support for preparation of fracturing additives at the well:
    • water testing
    • preparation of dispersing medium
    • linear gel (homogeneous biodegradable system with qualitative structural-rheological, pseudoplastic, technological features and excellent inhibitory properties)
  • mini-hydraulic fracture tests and hydraulic fracturing in compliance with the design parameters, well testing etc.
  • hydraulic fracturing operations under Fly Ash Frac technology using bottom ash materials from Ukrainian thermal power plants as a crack filler

The OFS team of PJSC Ukrnafta has an extensive experience in the above-mentioned operations. Since 1996, we have performed more than 440 hydraulic fracturing  operations with fracture being fixed in various subsurface properties of the Western and Eastern Oil and Gas Production Regions.

In September 2019, for the first time ever, the OFS successfully carried out a hydraulic fracturing of Eocene sediments of well 85 Strutyn of Dolyna NGVU with fracture being fixed using record-breaking 42 t of the propping agent.

At the end of 2020, the OFS was the first company in Ukraine to apply an alternative Fly Ash Frac technology in hydraulic fracturing with the use of bottom (dry) ash from Ukrainian TPPs and fine frac sands in injection well 241-Dolinska. The results made it possible to increase the well injectivity by 60% in average.

Production services produce:

  • metal structures
  • rope cargo slings and separate elements for it, lifting beams
  • tools and equipment for workover
  • rubber products (made from crude rubber, by vulcanizing in molds)
  • forgings up to 100 kg

Our bases also offer:

  • major and routine overhaul of electric motors, generators, power transformers of all types and modifications
  • repair tubing, drill pipe, heavy weight drill pipe, cross-over subs, etc.
  • repair of drilling and oilfield equipment of domestic and foreign origin

Electric Submersible Pumps Repair

In 2020, the OFS completed the construction of a modern workshop for repairing electric submersible pumps (ESP) within the Operations Base Pryluky, where now all types of ESP repairs are carried out regardless of their manufacturers, namely:
