Well workover ensures daily flow rate of 60,000 cubic meters of gas and access to a new deposit

A well workover carried out by Ukrnafta in the north of Ukraine made it possible not only to increase natural gas production but also to open up new prospects for further exploration of the field.

The workover team performed geophysical works to determine the saturation of the new deposit and disconnected the mined-out subsurface.

At a depth of 2,317-2,322 m, perforation works were carried out to connect the deposit to the well, after which the well development began.

“The preliminary estimated flow rate after the workover is more than 60,000 cub. m per day,” said Sergii Koretskyi, CEO at UKRNAFTA.

The deposit is 2 sq. km in size and 35.4 m thick, with a productive section ranging from 2 to 7 m. It was initially estimated at 199 million cub. m of gas and 70,000 tonnes of condensate. These reserves have not been commercially developed.

Now, when we have good results after the workover, we can say with confidence: the resource is available, so the Company plans to develop it.
