Ukrnafta restored production in Nadvirna region

PJSC Ukrnafta restored oil production on 47 wells of Lukvynske and Hvizdetske fields of Nadvirna region (Ivano-Frankivsk oblast) after forced stop on August 2 because of absence of railway tanks for oil transportation. Due to the intervention of the PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia management the company succeeded to avoid further suspension of operations on wells in the region and significant production losses.

The company started to stop production operations due to the acute shortage of empty railway tanks Ukrzaliznytsia had to supply during July and in the beginning of August. Therefore, that caused a glut of storage plant which accumulated about 40 ktonnes of oil.

Tanks deficiency could become a reason for stoppage of 264 wells in the region. However, the company succeeded to avoid negative consequences.

Each month Ukrnafta needs about 170 tanks for 10 ktonnes of oil transportation from Nadvirna. For August 310 railway tanks are needed because of a glut of the storage plant. Currently the company has got 134 tanks and is waiting for 180 tanks more. Ukrnafta is going to work closely with Ukrzaliznytsia in order to avoid the similar situations in the future.
