Oleksandr Kaliuzhka joined the company in December 1985. Over this time, he has progressed from an oil and gas production operator to a foreman, and today he passes on his expertise to younger colleagues.

On his career path
“My uncle worked in the oil industry. When I was a teenager, he used to take me with him to the oilfield and explain how everything worked. At the age of 20, I joined the company myself. I started as an oil and gas production operator with a 5th skill level qualification, and since 2019, I have been working as a foreman.”

 

About changes over the years
"We are constantly moving forward: technologies are evolving, and the production infrastructure is improving. Over these years, I have witnessed numerous changes, and thanks to modernization, the work process itself has become much more interesting.”

 

About young colleagues
“When new employees without experience join, they need guidance, and it is important to pass on the knowledge you have. I want them to become highly competent specialists. I always tell them: with discipline and knowledge, results will inevitably follow.”

 

On continuing the profession in the family
“My son has also chosen this industry. We frequently discuss work-related matters; we can now talk about our jobs as two professionals who perfectly understand the intricacies of the field.”

 

Outside of work
“My hobby is viticulture. I have collected about 30 grape varieties that I tend to in my free time. It is very meticulous work, but it brings me great satisfaction and helps me unwind from work-related matters.”
