PJSC “Ukrnafta” Has Begun Implementing The Standards of The American Petroleum Institute in Its Operations.
Until 2023, the company was guided by outdated, Soviet standards of work. Accordingly, this affected absolutely all business and technological processes and did not allow us to develop at the desired pace.
This is changing now: A memorandum was signed with The American Petroleum Institute, and the company has started purchasing modern equipment for production, service and stimulation — this year alone, modern pumps from Oil Dynamics, Baker Hughes and Alkhorayef Petroleum will be installed at 150 wells.
However, the most important thing is that all processes are based on the implementation of standards, as these are the rules and regulations that the industry follows throughout the civilized world.
The first important step in this direction has already been taken: An agreement has been signed with The American Petroleum Institute to obtain and translate industry standards.
Initially, 314 API standards have been identified, 20 of which are related to drilling, exploration, production and stimulation, and have already been received, and their translation has begun.
To ensure maximum professionalism, specialists from Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas were involved.
After the translation, each standard will be adopted and implemented in business processes, employee training will begin, and a compliance monitoring system will be launched.
Why it's important: It allows to bring a hundred years of global oil and gas production experience to the processes of PJSC “Ukrnafta”. Since 1924, the American Petroleum Institute has been defining and maintaining standards for the global oil and gas industry. These are the rules of work written taking into account a century of experience and modern trends that increase safety, reduce costs, reduce waste and ensure the quality of the final product.
These will be the first API standards available in Ukrainian, and PJSC “Ukrnafta” will become their provider in Ukraine.
