Ukrnafta has topped the rating of Ukraine's biggest taxpayers based on the results of 2020. This is reported by the publication "Rating. Business in official figures", which published a study based on data from the State Tax Service.
Ukrnafta paid a record UAH 47.5 billion to budgets of all levels in 2020, an increase of 253% compared to 2019, including paying off the "historic" tax debt, including fines and penalties, as well as paying VAT and income tax advance in connection with the implementation of the gas purchase and sale agreement with Naftogaz of Ukraine. Current tax liabilities in 2020 amounted to about UAH 18.6 billion, including UAH 4.8 billion of rent payments.
Ukrnafta managed to achieve this positive result despite the extremely challenging challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine and globally, and amid macroeconomic instability, decreasing demand for energy and sharp drop in oil and gas prices seen last year.
