Ukrnafta has commenced drilling a new well in western Ukraine, already reaching a depth of nearly 300 meters.
"The well is planned as an exploration well. The total depth is 1534 meters.
The drilling is carried out by BC Horizons LLC — the winner of the public tender on Prozorro Public Procurement Platform.
"At a depth of 1.2 kilometers, the well is projected to uncover the base of the Stryi deposits, which is 1.26 million tons of oil reserves. Even deeper, at 1.3 kilometers, menilite deposits with 162,000 tons of reserves are anticipated," said Sergii Koretskyi, CEO at UKRNAFTA, "In just a month, the company expects to get the first production.
As a reminder, in early November 2024, Ukrnafta drilled and put into operation the deepest well in the last eight years. The actual depth of the well is 4,520 meters. As of November 14, the well’s output stands at approximately 90 tons of oil per day and 30,000 cubic meters of gas per day.
