Gas pipeline tie-in detected and eliminated

The Security Service of PJSC "Ukrnafta" discovered that unidentified persons in one of the villages of Nadvirnianskyi district, Ivano-Frankivsk region, made an unauthorised tie-in to the gas pipeline of Nadvirna oil and gas production department of PJSC "Ukrnafta" in order to illegally withdraw gas supplied to individual households.

In fact, the operating and non-operating gas pipelines were connected in order to illegally withdraw gas for their own household needs.

Ivano-Frankivsk Research and Design Institute of PJSC "Ukrnafta" estimated that the consumption of oil gas that could have been unauthorisedly taken was 3,859 cubic metres per day. Given the cost of gas for households (supplied by LLC “GSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine”) at UAH 7.96 per 1 cubic metre, the daily amount of gas unauthorisedly taken was UAH 30,718 or UAH 11,211,937 per year.

The fact of the illegal tie-in was registered in the Housing and Maintenance Association of the Nadvirna Police Department and registered in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations on the grounds of a crime under Article 185(3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Employees of the National Police of Ukraine, together with the Security Service of PJSC "Ukrnafta", are taking measures to identify the offenders.
