Fewer repairs, greater production efficiency: Ukrnafta deploys 226 modern pump systems

Ukrnafta is deploying modern pumping equipment from global market leaders to reduce the number of repairs and maximise production from its wells. The company currently has 226 electric submersible pumps in operation from Baker Hughes, Oil Dynamics and Alkhorayef.

“At the same time, we are upgrading cables, tubing, and corrosion and scale protection systems — this is a coordinated effort across several company divisions,” said Bogdan Kukura, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “Ukrnafta”. “In 2026, we will continue renewing the well stock and scaling up these solutions. My thanks to the team for its systematic work and for results that are clearly visible in the numbers.”

Over the past two years, the combined effect of this integrated approach and modern equipment has been significant:

∙  the number of repairs across the well stock operated with electric submersible pumps has fallen from 48 to 32 per month

∙  average run life across the overall stock of wells operated with electric submersible pumps has increased by 75%, from 216 to 377 days, while at wells equipped with foreign-manufactured pumps it has reached 600 days

∙  some units have been operating for more than 800 days without repair, in line with global best practice
