In the face of persistent attacks on civilian and critical infrastructure, UKRNAFTA is systematically scaling up security measures for its employees and visitors at gas stations nationwide. Particular attention is being focused on frontline regions and cities, where the risks remain the highest.

 

This was highlighted by Lesia Zharska, Director of the UKRNAFTA gas station network, speaking at the PROkachai AZS 2026 industry exhibition and conference.

 

Specifically, UKRNAFTA has upgraded its internal security protocols and is swiftly evacuating staff and visitors upon the activation of air-raid alerts. Furthermore, the gas station complexes of Ukraine’s largest network have already been reinforced with sand-filled gabions and other protective structures. The next stage of the initiative will be the installation of modular civil defence shelters.

 

“Recent incidents have reaffirmed that the implemented protective measures are achieving results. Gabion fortifications assist in containing shrapnel and localising the consequences of strikes, thereby lowering risks to people around the sites. We can reconstruct any gas station complex. We can replace any technological equipment. However, human life is invaluable,” added Lesia Zharska.
