PJSC Ukrnafta increased its total reserves by 330 thousand tons of oil and condensate and 618 million cubic meters of gas, through the expansion of the boundaries of two existing special permits.
"Until 2023, the company had expanded the boundaries of special permits only twice," Sergii Koretskyi, CEO at UKRNAFTA, wrote on Facebook.
The reason for expanding the boundaries of the special permits is to align them with the contours of the field's productive deposits.
The subsoil area of the first special permit now amounts to 18.33 square kilometers. This is 23.1% more than the previously allocated plot. Total reserves increased by 217 thousand tons of oil and condensate and 232 million cubic meters of gas.
The area of the second license increased by 16.3% now totalling 41.75 square kilometers. Total reserves increased by 386 million cubic meters of gas and 113 thousand tons of condensate.
The company has already received the first two relevant orders from the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine.
"I am grateful to the company's employees who prepared and submitted the necessary applications and packages of documents to the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine. Following the processing of these submissions, corresponding orders were received, thereby expanding the opportunities for resource extraction," said Sergii Koretskyi.
Thanks to this solution, Ukrnafta will be able to drill the existing brownfield more efficiently.
