Drilling a Lateral Well in the Chernihiv Region

Company specialists are preparing to drill a lateral well at a depth of 1,450 meters at the Hnidyntsivskyi field, which will provide a second lease of life for the drilling well and enable access to new reserves in an area not previously tapped for production, which was announced by Sergii Koretskyi, CEO at UKRNAFTA, on his social media page on Facebook.

According to his statement, the drilling work will be carried out by the company's drilling team, using their own equipment, similar to the one used for the drilling of well No. 105 in the Lviv Region.

"In essence, we are building a new well, but utilizing the existing resources to achieve greater efficiency," he noted.

Well no. 255 at the Hnidyntsivskyi field in Chernihiv Region was initially constructed in 2015 to access Dolarenite formations. It was put into operation in March 2016, with an initial oil production rate of 7.5 tons per day and a total water content of 24.6%. However, oil production rates were gradually falling, and water content was being increased. By August 2022, the well was producing only one and a half tons of oil and three tons of liquid, with a water content of 50.3%.
