Ukrnafta commences the construction of a new directional well in the North-East of Ukraine. Preparations for the drilling site have already begun.
The design depth is 3314 meters.
The drilling is planned to explore the productive horizon of the Lower Carboniferous Visean deposits and its further exploitation.
"Ukrnafta Drilling, a division of Ukrnafta, will be constructing the well using its own ZJ-40 drilling rig with a lifting capacity of 225 tons," says Sergii Koretskyi, CEO at UKRNAFTA. "The drilling rig that was previously used at the company's another site is currently being transported to the new location, and drilling is set to commence shortly."
The projected initial oil production rate is 26.5 tons per day.
This is the first well that Ukrnafta plans to start drilling using its own drilling equipment in 2024.
As a reminder, in 2023, the company completed 8 new wells.
