A pilot project in this area was launched in 2024. At that time, 600 meters of new pipeline were commissioned into pilot operation, confirming the solution efficiency and the feasibility of further modernisation.

"The pipes are custom-selected, depending on the media, pressure, and temperature. Their service life is 20–25 years, compared to 3–5 years for steel pipes. They have a smooth inner surface, which reduces the scale, and are not subject to corrosion," said Bohdan Kukura, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Ukrnafta."

In 2025, the Company's specialists designed a program to replace 12 km of the most critical sections of steel pipelines. Installation should be completed in 2026.

In 2027, another 20 km of pipelines should be purchased and replaced in areas where it is technologically feasible. They will ensure the greatest transportation-reliability effect.
