On 19 March, a training module and practical workshop dedicated to the preparation and conduct of supervisory board and committee meetings was held in Kyiv as part of the educational programme of the Corporate Governance Professional Association (CGPA).
Uliana Semchyshyn, Corporate Secretary of the Corporate Governance Centre at JSC “Ukrnafta”, together with her colleagues, took part in the session and shared practical experience with participants. In particular, the discussion covered the drafting of agendas with due regard to the board’s strategic and supervisory functions, the preparation of a complete and timely package of materials for informed decision-making, and the organisation of effective communication before and after meetings.
Corporate governance is a key element of effective company performance, as it determines the quality of decision-making, the transparency of processes and the level of accountability. The corporate secretary plays a central role as an independent adviser to the supervisory board, ensures compliance with governance procedures, facilitates effective interaction between the governing bodies and management, supports supervisory board members in the performance of their duties, and monitors the implementation of adopted decisions.
JSC “Ukrnafta” has been systematically involved in the educational programme of the Corporate Governance Professional Association since March 2025 (https://cgpa.com.ua/novini/paku-prodovzhuye-rozvyvaty-profesiyu-korporatyvnogo-sekretarya/), contributing to the training of corporate secretaries and corporate governance professionals. The team shares the experience gained through its work with the supervisory board and its committees, demonstrating the practical application of modern corporate governance approaches.
