Ukrnafta was one of Ukraine’s largest importers of diesel in January 2026, placing in the top two by volume.

The state-owned company brought 68,000 tonnes of Arctic- and winter-grade diesel into the country, accounting for almost 15% of total imports over the period.

Most of the fuel was purchased from Poland’s state-owned group Orlen, with additional volumes sourced from Romania’s OMV Petrom and via Lithuania.

“The Company is working to supply customers with high-quality Euro 5 fuel, so in January it focused specifically on procuring Arctic diesel, which is recommended for use in extremely low temperatures,” said Bogdan Kukura, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “Ukrnafta”.

Overall, according to A-95 Consulting Group, Ukraine imported 455,600 tonnes of fuel in January 2026, up 44% year-on-year.
