PJSC "Ukrnafta" will drill two more wells in western Ukraine
PJSC "Ukrnafta" is preparing a site for drilling two exploration wells in Western Ukraine.
According to the digital 3D geological and hydrodynamic model of the field as of January 01, 2023, the initial total reserves of oil in the productive horizons are 5.9 million tonnes and 468 million cubic meters of gas.
"I am grateful to the employees of PJSC "Ukrnafta" who explored this relatively young field discovered in 1990 and are preparing to build two new facilities to obtain a valuable resource for the Ukrainian economy," said Sergii Koretskyi, CEO at UKRNAFTA.
The target object of additional exploration with further exploitation is Paleogene menilite deposits.
Both wells are planned to be directional.
The first one is expected to discover productive horizons in the vertical depth range of 2,498–2,627 m. Its vertical depth is 2,677 m. The initial flow rate is projected at 16 tonnes of oil per day.
The second well shall reach the resource and uncover deposits in the vertical depth range of 2,502–2,647 m. The vertical depth of the well is 2,672 m. The initial flow rate is 25 tonnes per day.
The work is carried out in-house with the involvement of third-party contractors for directional drilling, drilling fluids and geophysical work.
