Vasyl joined the UKRNAFTA team in July 2022.

On 29 June 2024, he stepped up to defend Ukraine. He served as a sniper in a mechanized squad of military unit A4699.

We have received the sad news: Vasyl, who had long been considered missing in action, has, unfortunately, been killed in action. His life was cut short on 10 October 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Novoivanivka (Zelenyi Shliakh) in the Sudzha District of the Kursk Region of the Russian Federation. Vasyl was 50 years old.
