Starting the New Academic Year with a Refurbished Sports Hall!

The sports hall at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (IFNTUOG) has been restored after suffering damage during a missile strike in June 2024.

The blast at the time shattered all the windows and damaged the ceiling, leaving the hall exposed to leaks. According to Rector Ihor Chudyk, the refurbishment has included repairs to the floor, walls and ceiling, along with the installation of new thermal glazing, heating, and lighting.

Ukrnafta supported the university by helping to finance the renovation.

The modernised sports hall is now set to host basketball, volleyball, handball and tennis, and will be open not only to students but also to schoolchildren, veterans, and pensioners.

On 22 June 2024, ten buildings of IFNTUOG were damaged in a Russian missile attack. Thanks to the rapid assistance of socially responsible businesses – including companies of the Naftogaz Group – as well as patrons and volunteers, the main university buildings were quickly restored, allowing the academic year to begin on schedule.

Restoration of the remaining university facilities is still ongoing.
