Ukrnafta expands remote monitoring

In February 2019, PJSC Ukrnafta began to implement the system of remote monitoring of wells, provided by company NAFTAMATIKA, in Buhruvativske field. The project includes equipping 77 wells with the system and is expected to take two months. The system will provide Ukrnafta with remote monitoring and control of sucker rod pumps, enabling quick detection of problems, increase of mean time between failures and, ultimately, increase production.

The remote well monitoring by NAFTAMATIKA is installed on the wells, equipped with sucker rod pumps, and includes controllers, transmitters of several kinds and relevant software. Two teams of specialists from the company-developer are working on the system installation.

Remote monitoring is an integral part of oilfield digital project that Ukrnafta is implementing on its fields. Since 2017, the company has been deploying a remote monitoring system, developed inhouse, on wells with electric submersible pumps (ESPs). It enables the company to watch the state of wells remotely 24/7 and change the equipment settings rapidly to minimize downtime of wells. As of the end of 2018, Ukrnafta’s system has been expanded to 154 wells in different fields.
