Ukrnafta is systematically working to optimise its production processes and introduce solutions that improve the efficiency of well operations. One example is the use of nitrogen in coiled tubing operations.
Coiled tubing is a technology used to carry out workover, drilling and stimulation operations without killing the well. It is widely used for acid treatments, geophysical surveys, packer setting and bottomhole cleaning.
“In global practice, the use of nitrogen is a standard approach to improving the efficiency of such operations. Ukrnafta is gradually integrating these solutions into its own production processes. In particular, during well completion, nitrogen is used to displace heavy fluids. Unlike air, it does not contain oxygen, which reduces the corrosive impact on equipment,” said Bogdan Kukura, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “Ukrnafta”. “We are grateful to the specialists working to integrate modern technologies into our production processes.”
This approach makes it possible to:
- reduce wear on the coiled tubing string
- improve operational safety
- lower equipment repair costs
- shorten well completion time
As a result, operational efficiency improves without the need to expand the equipment fleet.
The introduction of such solutions is part of the company’s systematic work to improve the reliability and efficiency of production.
