Increased reserves by more than 3 million tonnes of oil: expanded the boundaries of special permits

PJSC "Ukrnafta" increased its reserves and resources by more than 3 mln tonnes of oil and over 600 mln cubic meters of gas.

This was due to another expansion of the existing special permits of the company in western Ukraine.

The area of the first plot after the boundary expansion is 0.93 square kilometers, which is 50% larger than the previously granted plot of 0.62 square kilometers. Total reserves increased by 221 thousand tonnes of oil and 19 million cubic meters of gas.

The second special permit increased by 32.62% and now covers 8.7 square kilometers. Total reserves and resources increased by 836 thousand tonnes of oil and 402 million cubic meters of gas.

The third special permit was increased by 36.14% and now covers 7.12 square kilometers. The total volume of reserves due to the expansion of the special permit boundaries is more than 1.9 million tonnes of oil and 205 million cubic meters of gas dissolved in oil.

"The reason for expanding the boundaries of the special permits is to bring their size in line with the contours of productive deposits. We have already received the relevant orders from the State Geologic and Subsoil Survey of Ukraine," said Sergii Koretskyi, CEO at UKRNAFTA.

As a reminder, PJSC "Ukrnafta" has expanded the boundaries of its special permits only twice until 2023. And last year, by expanding the boundaries of two fields, the company increased its total reserves by 330 thousand tonnes of oil and condensate and 618 million cubic meters of gas.
