The “Termit” unmanned ground vehicle, procured by Ukrnafta jointly with the Come Back Alive foundation, enabled the evacuation of two soldiers of the 5th Separate Assault Brigade on the Kostiantynivka axis just a month after it was handed over.
“The best news you can hear is that the equipment we delivered to the frontline has helped save human lives. In total, Ukrnafta and Come Back Alive have supplied five such robotic systems, as well as a workshop minibus used to transport and service them,” said Bohdan Kukura, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “Ukrnafta”. “On behalf of the whole team, I thank the soldiers for their defence and for giving us the opportunity to work to support Ukraine’s energy resilience.”
Reaching the wounded was difficult, so it was decided to deploy the ground drone.
The operation lasted 16 hours. In freezing conditions, the vehicle was operating at the limit. The UGV had to travel 38 out of a possible 40 kilometres, almost completely depleting its battery. En route, they were attacked twice by the enemy: the first FPV drone detonated to the side, and the second detonated ahead when the soldiers had already been recovered. Fortunately, both the machine and the men held up.
