Ukrnafta initiates modernisation of its procurement function

Ukrnafta PJSC has started the process of procurement system reorganisation. For a better control over procurement function, Robert Whalley, Executive Vice President for Technology & Services, has already developed the new mechanism, aimed at modernising and reforming the current procurements to make it more efficient and cut cycle times. It will be implemented in the nearest future. Moreover, the new mechanism increases transparency and tackles corruption risks as Ukrnafta PJSC introduces reporting on major procurements.

“We have applied for financial and expert support from the UK government funded initiative, as we understand that we need to reform one of the main economic processes in the company. Despite all our international expertise, we won’t be able to make it without support from the outside. If all goes as planned, we expect the main elements of the process to be in place within the next six months, and the full implementation of the entire procurement function reform in early 2017,” Robert Whalley noted.

The estimated benefits of the new system will be about 25-50% of costs saved. In the future, the company’s specialists intend to move biddings to an e-platform to significantly speed up the process and maximize the number of potential bidders.
