Andrii Bobrov, the Chief Information Officer at Ukrnafta, has been named the winner in the Energy category of the BEST CIO 2024 awards – Ukraine’s premier national competition for CIOs, held annually for the past fifteen years.
This recognition highlights the large-scale digital transformation led by the company’s IT team, completed in record time.
The key transformation projects recognised by the jury include:
Digital reboot of B2B and B2C segments. From the ground up, processing centres were launched for the issuance and management of fuel cards and coupons, and a customer loyalty program was introduced for the Ukrnafta gas station network. A mobile application was developed, which now has 1.5 million users and ranks among the top apps in its categories on both the App Store and PlayMarket.
Digitalisation of logistics, production and trading. End-to-end operational transparency was implemented — from supply to distribution, with real-time cost control. The company is actively implementing and scaling ERP-class systems.
Modern IT infrastructure and cybersecurity. The data transmission network is being upgraded, and 95% of communication channels have been migrated to optics with redundancy and energy independence. Wi-Fi has been deployed at over 600 sites, and the “Online only” principle has been embedded in the service architecture.
“IT today is not just about supporting the business, it is its foundation. The resilience of the energy system, the stability of business processes, and convenience for millions of users — all of this relies on robust digital solutions. This award is not just mine, but the result of teamwork, where everyone contributes their heart and mind”, – said Andrii Bobrov.
The BEST CIO award has been held since 2008. Traditionally, it brings together Ukraine’s top CIOs across various economic sectors. The winners of the competition are selected by juries of industry experts and previous finalists.
