Ukrnafta has deployed 10 Toyota Hilux pick-up trucks as part of the ongoing effort to modernize and streamline its transportation service. The light trucks will move lease operators and service crews of Ukrnafta’s Chernihiv oil & gas production division.
The new vehicles will replace the old Soviet-made heavy trucks, vastly improving safety and working conditions for employees. The company also expects to save at least UAH 5 mln per year in fuel and maintenance costs from replacing the 10 vehicles.
Ukrnafta conducted a tender considering between 3 makes of the vehicles based on the TCO approach. The company is contemplating to procure 54 more light trucks in the near future to modernize its transport fleet. Besides, the company has amended the structure of its transport service and is looking to deploy GPS and fuel consumption monitoring systems to reduce costs and optimize use of resources.
Ukrnafta increased capital investments in 1H2017 by 43% y-o-y. However, the absence of an agreed solution regarding the repayment of the tax debt continues to impair the company’s ability to invest, and the company continues to only make investments in essential operating equipment which protects its ability to meet current tax obligations.
