UKRNAFTA is starting to implement green technologies in its network of filling stations. The company has installed the first rooftop solar power plant at a filling station in Obolon district in Kyiv. This will not only save money on electricity, but also reduce the dependence of filling stations on centralized power supply, i.e. make the filling station more autonomous.
The capacity of the SPP is 25 kW. 44 panels are connected to a modern inverter with artificial intelligence functions. Currently, the station operates exclusively for the internal consumption of the complex.
“One such solar station allows us to save hundreds of thousands of hryvnias a year, and from March to October it can cover more than half of the total consumption of the filling station. Modern solar panels have a lifespan of 20–25 years and minimal maintenance costs, which makes them an effective long-term investment”, said Sergii Koretskyi, CEO at UKRNAFTA. – “Also, what is important in the conditions of electricity shortage, local SPP reduces the load on the power grid.”
The company will develop solar generation in the UKRNAFTA network.
Renewable energy sources help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which contributes to environmental protection and meets the goals of the enterprise's ESG strategy.
