New high-rate well launched in the east of Ukraine

Ukrnafta has launched another high-rate well in the east of Ukraine using its own drilling rig. 

During the drilling process, the Company used in-house developments: the Industrial Chemistry and Core Analysis Department developed a drilling fluid based on a basic recipe, that was used to a depth of 2,013 metres. This made it possible to reduce the wellbore cavernosity ratio and minimize the cost of chemicals and materials, saving millions of hryvnias for the Company.

“The total depth of the new exploration well is 2,919 metres," Sergii Koretskyi, CEO at UKRNAFTA, says. “The initial daily flow rate is 51.4 tonnes of almost anhydrous oil with a water cut of 2-3%.”.
