Ukrnafta’s results in health and industrial safety in 2016

In 2016, PJSC Ukrnafta recorded 11 lost-time injuries and zero instances of fatal injuries, industrial accidents or fires. The average lost-time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) was 0.14 cases per 1 mln of worked man-hours (the company began to track this indicator since April 2016).

In April 2016, the company adopted an improved system to monitor and account for injuries and incidents in the area of health, safety, and environment. The system follows the best international practice in the oil and gas sector, as well as meets the requirements of Ukrainian legislation. The new system does not only record LTIs, but also minor injuries, administration of medical and first aid, as well as near misses.

The new system allows Ukrnafta to compare its performance relative to the International standards.  This will significantly contribute to the prevention of accidents and losses and have a positive contribution on Ukrnafta’s business.

Additionally, Ukrnafta began rolling out the Golden Rules of Safety in late 2016. In 2016, Ukrnafta invested UAH 152 mln in health, fire and traffic safety, up by 31% from 2015.
