As a major employer in Ukraine, the company supports a number of large and small institutions that benefit employees, their families and the wider community. A selection of these initiatives include:

Naftovyk-Ukrnafta Football Club

Ukrnafta sponsors Naftovyk (translates from Ukrainian as Oiler), a football club that plays in Ukraine’s second division. Founded in 1980, the team is based in the town of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region, a home of Ukrnafta’s most important oil producing unit. The company owns a stadium in Okhtyrka. Ukrnafta’s employees have access to the stadium as well as a swimming pool and other facilities for recreation. Visit the Naftovyk website here.

Summer camps for children

Ukrnafta sponsors three summer camps for children of the company’s employees that provide education and sporting activities in a healthy and safe environment. The three camps are: the Druzhba camp in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the Veselka camp in the Chernigov region and the Iskorka camp in the Poltava region. In Summer 2010 more than 2,000 children attended the three camps. In addition, Ukrnafta sponsors summer camps for orphans and for children from low-income families.

Spartakiada festival

Spartakiada is a sporting event organized every year for Ukrnafta employees and their families.

Donations to charity

Every year, Ukrnafta donates substantial amounts to charitable and social causes. In 2010 charitable and social spending totaled UAH 113 mn and in 2011 that figure is expected to rise to UAH 122 mn.

Collaboration with local authorities

In 2010, Ukrnafta paid UAH 32 mn in direct support of local authorities. For 2011, this amount is expected to be UAH 40 mn. These funds are dedicated to the regional development funds.
